UK Left wants stronger sanctions, Bulgarian partners fewer
The European Socialists and Democrats Group appeared to be split, moments after the European Council announced the first sanctions against Russia after Crimea voted to re-join Russia in a controversial referendum.
The European Parliamentary Labour Party and veteran MEP, Richard Howitt has disagreed with the Bulgarian President of the Party of European Socialists over the effectiveness of sanctions and the basis of their approach to dealing with the Kremlin.
